Danish Nobility Yearbook
The most important activity of the Danish Nobility Association is to publish the Danish Nobility Yearbook, which has been published since 1884. The yearbook is a register of all living families belonging to the Danish nobility and all known members of these families. It also contains in each edition complete pedigrees of a small number of noble families. The pedigrees often go back many hundreds of years, and make an invaluable contribution to the knowledge of Denmark’s history and culture.
Danmarks Adels Aarbog is published every three years by Syddansk Universitetsforlag. The yearbook, which enjoys high recognition, is edited by historians from Danish universities. It is widely used by genealogists, historians and heralds, both in this country and internationally.
In recent years, the Danish Nobility Yearbook has been improved in many ways; among other things, new introductions have been prepared, ie. introductory presentations, to each family’s attendance list. The attendance lists, ie the lists of members of the living families, have also been expanded. The latest edition of the Danish Nobility Yearbook 2015-2017 has been published in 2018.
The yearbook can be freely purchased in bulk in the bookstores.
